I love incorporating the use of a combination of natural seeds, pods, precious stones and other artifacts to create unique locally designed and handcrafted jewelry. I enjoy working with silver and natural copper. (Some people claim it has good medicinal purposes.) My locally designed and hand crafted classic collection of vintage bags are characterized by excellence, maturity, and enduring appeal. My bags are made from fabrics that I have collected in many countries from my travels around the world. Decor fabrics, faux leather, raw silk from China and African mud cloth. They may be embellished with semiprecious stones, pearls or hand painted.
I was born and raised right here in “Rock City” St. Thomas United States Virgin Islands. I grew up foraging through the hillsides looking for seeds and nuts to create art! I earned a degree in Fashion Merchandising with a minor in Art and became an avid designer of many art mediums. I had the distinguished honor and pleasure of being crowned the 1973 St. Thomas USVI Carnival Queen.
For 31 years, I served the Virgin Islands Government as a secondary teacher and later became a school counselor in several schools on the Island. After retirement, I returned to my handcrafted artistry work which I truly enjoy! In 2014, I captured 1st Place in the St. Thomas Cultural Fair and in 2015, I was selected by the Virgin Islands Dept. of Tourism to exhibit my locally handcrafted jewelry at the Miami's Seafarer's Convention.
